More Museum Talk from Answers in Genesis

Review by Greg Neyman

Answers in Genesis and Ken Ham are still buzzing about all the media hype that their Creation Museum is causing.1  News people from all over the world are contacting them for information.  In today’s featured article, Ken Ham mentions something that the reporters often say…something like “We heard this was a quality place, but we didn’t realize it was so first class.  Such quality.  So professional.”

I don’t doubt comments like these.  Answers in Genesis has gone to great lengths to make their new museum a place that has quality displays.  It is no wonder that the museum is getting so much attention.  Ken Ham goes on to say that it is exciting that the secular world is ‘congratulating AiG and its talented museum staff.’

It is interesting to note that while they agree it is a professional place, some of the media don’t agree with the material they are presenting.  Hopefully the media personnel who view the museum will see through the bad science.

How unfortunate it is that many non-Christian people will view this museum, and be driven even further away from salvation.  Answers in Genesis pretends to represent the church, and the Bible, however, their views do not have any scientific credibility, and it’s easy for the world to see through their “professional façade.”  We can only pray that the damage Answers in Genesis does to the church will one day be reversed.  Eventually, young earth creationism will be part of the church’s historical past, and the sooner the better.

Unfortunately, this museum will extend the life of young earth creationism a little longer.  Those who will enjoy the museum the most are those Christians who are already young earth creationists.  Because they view creation through the eyes of organizations like AiG, they will be dazzled by the façade.  Although the museum is built on the premise of reaching the lost for Christ, that is not the real goal of the museum.  Young earth creationism has been on the decline, with people leaving it in droves.  This museum is meant to patch the holes in the "young earth ship," and try to keep the people from jumping overboard.  This tactic will work for a little while, but eventually, the ship will go down, and the church will be better off without it.
