  1. The dictionary definition for yom is for any period of time, from part of a day, to a week, month, season, year, and even eternity

  2. The Hebrew word Yom is translated numerous ways in the Old Testament.  It is translated as time, age, ago, always, season, chronicles, continually, ever, evermore

  3. The translation depends on who is translating it.  A person who believes in a young earth would no doubt choose a 24-hour day, whereas another translator would not
