Hovind claims that living snails were carbon dated at 2,300 and 27,000 years old
Kent, n.d. Doesn't carbon dating or potassium argon dating prove the Earth
is millions of years old? drdino.com/QandA/index.jsp?varFolder=CreationEvolution&varPage=CarbonPotassiumargondating.jsp
Both samples come from instances where "dead carbon" has been incorporated into the shells by the snails. The snails lived in an environment where ancient limestones contributed dead carbon. There is nothing wrong with the carbon dating method...it has to do with the material being dated
Scientists know about this problem, and test for it. In cases where corrections for dead carbon cannot be made, the dates are recognized as erroneous and discarded
