Late last year I got an email from a new group called The Creation Science Hall of Fame.  I'm not sure how I got on their mailing list.  Their website can be viewed here

This new organization exists to honor those who honored God's Word as literally written in Genesis.  From this description, as an old earth creationist who literally interprets Genesis, I qualify!  However, it is clear when you look at the rest of the website that this is a young earth project.

It seems strange that they would actually put the leaders of the young earth movement on a pedastal.   But once you think about it, it's not out of character for YEC's.  Whenever I've encountered young earth creationists, they do indeed worship the ground their leaders walk on.  People like Ken Ham are  objects of such reverence that they deserve sainthood.

The organization claims in their Policy Statement:

In “honoring those who honor God’s Word,” the Creation Science Hall of Fame does not honor men instead of God in the sense of the world’s vain idea of fame. Rather, in the spirit of Hebrews 11, and Romans 13:7, we seek to preserve the testimony and give honor where honor is due for all that the Christian community owes our inductees.

There is no need to preserve the testimony of these individuals, as their material is readily available on young earth websites.  There is a fine line between honoring these men, and holding these men in such high regard that they are idolized.  Seeing how YEC's talk about Ken Ham and others in their movement, I would say this idea is dangerously close to idol worship.

What is even more astounding is that they are seeking to actually build a museum, close to the AiG buildings in northern Kentucky.  Guess you could call this (and the creation museum) young earth temples of worship.

What do you think of this idea?  Please leave your comments on the Facebook post.

NOTE:  I sent them an email, asking of old earth creationists who literally interpret the Word, would be eligible.  They posted a response on their website.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.

Are you a Christian who believes in young earth creationism?  Now that we have shown the many difficulties of the young earth creation science model in this and many other articles, how does this impact your Christian life?  If you are a young earth creationism believer, click here.
