TTMCLS - Things That Make Christians Look Stupid: Cat and Dog Paws

One of the series of articles on Creation Science Evangelism website (the “Hovind” site) is creatively titled “Things that make evolutionists look stupid” (TTMELS for short).  The subtitle then goes on to introduce the topic for the article.  The article we shall consider in this commentary is "Cat and Dog Paws". 1

Cat and Dog Paws

Hinton makes a big deal about how dog tracks always show claw marks, but cat tracks do not show claw marks, due to their retractable claws (he ignores the cheetah, a cat who's claws are only partially retractable...a cheetah track does show claw marks).

Hinton claims this is evidence that makes evolutionists look stupid.  He says,

It is absurd to assume that these specially designed features would have evolved by chance.

However, he fails to provide any reasoning why evolution cannot answer why dogs and cats developed different claws.  He throws out many rapid-fire questions, but these merely serve to emotionally support his position...they contain no scientific information against cat or dog evolution.  The idea he is presenting is that evolution has many unanswered questions that cannot be answered.  However, this is not true.  There is nothing mysterious about dog or cat evolution.  If he had solid evidence, Hinton would rely on scientific facts, and not on imagined unanswered questions.

Conclusion

Just like the other articles in this series, it calls evolutionists "stupid."  If we are to love the unsaved, and win them for Christ, calling them “stupid” is not the proper way to do it.  This will turn more away from the Gospel, and harden their hearts.  Driving them away from the Gospel is working against Christ.  Hinton appears to be working against Christ.

If you are not a Christian, and you have been holding out on making a decision for Christ because the Church always preached a message that was contrary to what you saw in the scientific world, then rest assured that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, and you can believe in Christ and receive salvation, while still believing in an old earth.  Click here for more.
